Morocco property prices still rising
Morocco has grabbed Briton’s attention in 2007 after the Spaniards and French, with Marrakech, Fez, Agadir, Tangier, Asilah, Essaouira and the Atlas mountains now the mainstream place-breaks destinations, thanks to Easyjet’s, Royal air Maroc, British airway, other flight’s arrival and of course to His Majesty the King Mohamed VI who is driving his country Morocco with confidence into a major tourism destination by 2010. As Moroccan British Investors in property, land development and tourism we can say prices have risen by 15 to 20 per cent this year and the tourism push is also seeing secondary cities, towns and villages such as Tetouan, Chefchaouen, Larache, kenitra, El jadida and the south of Agadir like Tiznit, Merleft, Sidi Ifmi and Aglou benefit from big investment and fledling foreign interest.
Marrakech and Tangier market is underpinned by domestic demand from wealthy Moroccans in Casablanca or Rabat who want weekend homes there, so it is not solely reliant on tourists, as coastal resorts are, Say investors in property in Morocco, Asilah and Fez. They are selling a luxury apartment in Asilah for 120 000 euro and a 20 acre seaside plot of land to developers from Dubai in about 10 mn from Asilah and 20 mn from Tangier making a big profit.
